The event takes place at the Delta Marriott Toronto Markham and features two sessions: an expert panel on climate risk in mortgage lending, and a presentation on mortgage defaults by Mohnish Aggerwal of Urbanwise Management.   Session 1: The New “C” in Credit Risk: Climate Risk and Your Mortgage Portfolio
  Presented by PROLINK & CNAREA
  Climate risk is becoming a new consideration in mortgage lending, with important implications for property values, insurability and the long-term security of mortgage portfolios. Join Derrick Leue, CEO of PROLINK Insurance; Garth Rustand, climate researcher and data scientist; and Kevin Lonsdale, real estate valuation risk advisor, for a practical discussion on how Canada’s changing climate is reshaping the fundamentals of real estate risk. CAMLA members will leave with a better understanding of the new “C” in credit risk and practical steps alternative lenders can take to identify, communicate and mitigate climate-related risks across their mortgage portfolios.
